  • Feb 21-23,2022 Weather event Town Road plowing course of action

    A Winter Stom Watch has been issued.  There is a high probability of snow fall 10 to 16 inches in this 48 hour period which will come in two waves.  The 1st wave is expected late tonight to early Monday evening.  The worst conditions are expected Monday late morning/afternoon.  The forecast snow accumulation Monday appears to be 8-12 inches.  Expected winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts around 30mph are fore cast as well.  On Tuesday another 4-6 inches of snow are expected to accumulate.  Winds on Tuesday are forcasted at 15 to 20 mph.  The temperature will fall below zero Tusday night.  The Burnett County Highway Department expects to be plowing in the Town of Grantsburg no later than mid morning to clear snow from the Grantsburg Town roads that have accumulated by that time
    .  The Burnett County Highway Department expects to be back to clear snow that has  accumulated on the Town of Grantsburg roads on Tuesday day morning.  The anticipation is the Burnett County Highway Department will return on Wednesday to further clear snow accumulated on on Town of Grantsburg roads. As plow trucks complete State Highway obligations and the clearing of County roads, they will be made available to assist in clearing the Town of Grantsburg roads through out the event.  Expect delays and inconvenient driving conditions on all Town of Grantsburg roads through Wednesday.  Please drive according to the road conditions.  They County Highway Department Road Supervisor and Town of Grantsburg board members will continue to monitor this event as it continues to develop and adjust accordingly.
